Over the past weekend, over 50 fans from all over the world came together in Amsterdam to celebrate the Queen of Rock’s anniversary, the high point being a special Tina Turner fan party on Saturday evening. Today, we have reached the magic mark of one million page views for The Tina Turner Blog. We started this blog 20 months ago, and never in our wildest dreams did we imagine the success, and all the positive feedback, we’ve had so far. We are very thankful to all the people who visit our website daily, who comment on our posts, who send us e-mails, and who share their Tina stories and material with us. It gives us a lot of joy and pleasure maintaining this blog, but we couldn’t do it without your support. Therefore, as a thank you for reaching one million hits today, we share with you a 50-minute TV broadcast (in black & white) of Tina’s concert in Athens, on August 28, 1990 as part of her Foreign Affair tour. We hope you will continue to visit and support our blog, and we look forward to many more years of exciting Tina news, and treasures from the ‘vaults’.

Tina Turner birthday fan party 2012
We’re very happy to announce that we will again organize a Tina Turner fan party to celebrate Tina’s birthday this year! The party will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (for the third year in a row) at bar The Queen’s Head. Because the birthday is on a Monday this year (November 26), we decided to move the date slightly, to better accommodate all the international travelers. The event will now be held on Saturday, November 24 – starting at 8 PM. We will have a special performer, Tina music all night long, a few surprises, and of course many Tina fans travelling to Amsterdam from all over the world. So please make sure you join us! Enjoy the summer!
Even rock stars get tired and need a break some time – and so do we! So, we are taking the month of July off for a much needed holiday and to create some new posts for The Tina Turner Blog. But don’t worry: we’ll be back in the beginning of August with new updates, and hopefully we’ll have some more Tina news soon. And if there happens to be some exciting Tina news in the next few weeks – we’ll try to update our website as quickly as possible. Tina Turner – still “One Of The Living”!
A Facebook/Twitter hoax that Tina Turner had passed away, spread on the internet for the last few days; and judging by the increase of our visitors the situation needs a little bit of explanation. The whole thing started in France last Monday (June 4) when a website (necropedia.org, not to name it) published a Tina Turner obituary stating she passed away June 3rd during the night. Subsequently, some stupid people relayed this fake information on social networks.
Other people then stated that Tina’s sister, Alline had died and not Tina. Also false; unfortunately Miss Ruby “Alline” Selico Bullock passed away in September 2010.
So all of this said, Tina Turner is alive and well and will be for a long time! We hope to have cleared this rumor up for everybody. Long live the Queen!

She Won’t Get Fooled Again!
Yes, Nana Mouskouri rocks… but did you really think we would make HER the star of our blog? No way! Better check that date again: indeed it was April 1, which means: April fools! For us, there’s only ONE queen, which is Miss Tina Turner! We enjoyed our joke: most of you couldn’t be fooled, but we did receive some de-subscriptions and frustated reactions. Don’t worry: we have absolutely no plans to transform our blog into The Nana Mouskouri Blog, and we will continue to bring you the latest updates and rare recordings from the archives of the one and only Tina Turner in the future!
