Soul Sister musical coming to the continent!

The musical Soul Sister, based on the music and life of Ike & Tina Turner  than opened at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End on August 20 (and got fantastic reviews) is coming to the Netherlands. The performances are scheduled at the World Forum Theater in Den Haag, from December 28, 2012 until January 16, 2013! We will keep you inform if other dates are added, in The Netherlands or anywhere else in Europe!

Soul Sister opens at West End’s Savoy Theatre tonight

Tonight, the musical Soul Sister, based on the music and life of Ike & Tina Turner will open at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End. The musical had a previous, very succesful run at the Hackney Empire, and has now been moved to the center of London’s theater scene! The musical will play at the theater from August 20 until September 29, with the official premiere taking place this Thursday, August 23. The show got great reviews during its previous run – see our posts here and here. If you haven’t seen it yet – you can buy tickets on this website.

Ike & Tina musical ‘Soul Sister’ moves to the West End (updated)

Soul Sister, the musical based on the life of Tina Turner, featuring many of Ike & Tina’s and Tina’s solo hits, will move the Savoy Theatre on London’s West End. The musical premiered in April of this year at Hackney Empire to excellent reviews. The original run ended at the beginning of this month, but today it was announced that the musical will return! It will open on August 23 and will run through (at least) September 29. For more information, visit the press release at Playbill.com. Curious? Soul Sister – the press round-up (updated)

Last weekend, the musical Soul Sister based on Tina Turner’s career and her marriage to Ike Turner, opened in London’s Hackney Empire theater. And good news: the musical has received mostly very positive reviews, and especially Emi Wokoma’s portrayal of Tina Turner is applauded. Ike & Tina musical Soul Sister premieres in London on April 14

On April 14, the musical Soul Sister, inspired by Tina Turner’s life story and music, will premiere at London’s Hackney Empire theatre. The show stars Emi Wokoma as Tina and Chris Tummings as Ike Turner, and it will feature many of Tina’s biggest hits. Tina Turner, nor anybody from her team is involved in the show, but it might still be an interesting night out for Tina fans in the area!
