Hello! magazine got an exclusive interview with Tina Turner & Erwin Bach during their wedding party in Zurich last Sunday. Tina told them details about the party preparation, her new life, Erwin and how it is to be Tina Turner in 2013. A first glimpse and a must-read before much anticipated Oprah show in August.

Tina Turner: “I’d been working on it from January, right up until the very day, and it was everything i wanted it to be, nothing went wrong, it was completely magical, and, aside from that, God gave us the most beautiful moon, which bathed the garden in this incredible light, as it shone in a clear, clear sky. That, for me was a highlight – everyone was in awe. We could not asked for more”
So elababorate were the preparations for the wedding, Tina and Erwin, moved into nearby five-star hotel The Dolder Grand for a week beforehand, with the bride popping home daily to check everything was going according to plan. Thousands upon thousands of roses, flown in specially from Amsterdam.
Tina told the magazine that she was a bit sad not being able to welcome her guest at their arrival but that she found a a trick:
“There’s a little window at the top of the house that i was peeking out of, watching this parade of people coming in, because i’d said to Erwin earlier: I feel sad that i’m going to miss that and only get to ee it in the photographs afterwards. So i set myself up in that great little spot, taking in all in, and oh, i like that so much! Everyone looked so glamorous and classy”.
When asked about Tina’s fantastic wedding dress, (“it wasn’t so much a dress as a work of art”) here is what Erwin has to answer:
“Only the right lady, with a certain grace and attitude, could wear it.”
The stunning chartreuse green taffeta and black silk tulle confection was designed by Tina’s long friend Giorgio Armani. Tina recalls:
“I remember, it was being modelled by this very tall, very slim Asian girl who had her hair up and everything looked one length, apart from this incredible pouffe. I thought, i gotta have that, even if i never wear it! Then i said: I know that will be my wedding dress! When Bryan Adams came into the house and saw me in the dress, he said:”It’s a fairytale” and it’s true, it’s beautiful, magical dress. I felt so special in it.”
Tina prepared at home, changing her mind at the last minute ( they were supposed to get dress at the Grand Dodler Hotel) and doesn’t regret it. She could spend some more times with her maid of honor, longtime friend and employe Rhonda Graam. All the bridesmaids where dress by Armani in lilac silk floral dresses.
The couple arrived together for the ceremony with Erwin driving a black Phantom convertible Rolls-Royce, to the sound of Frank Sinatra’s My Way, feeling no nerves, just overwhelming happiness:
“We arrived just as the song was reaching its climax and that was pretty emotional”
Singer Bryan Adams then broke into romantic ballad All for Love. A very emotional moment although no tears could be seen on the couple face.
Contrary to reports, the couple did not have a Buddhist ceremony.
“I didn’t feel i needed to do that, that is my belief, and i live by it, but i stuck to the American tradition i grew up with, tailoring it a little bit to me”
We also learned that Erwin proposed to Tina when they were on holidays in Croatia, Erwin remembers:
“Yes, i got down on one knee- and not for the first time, we were on a yacht, on the Grecian sea, and i asked my friend for his commitment that evening. I said “Whatever i ask of you tonight, don’t question it. I explained i needed a romantic bay, so docked in this beautiful bay in Skorpios, the island where Jackie Kennedy married Aristotle Onassis. THere was music playing, i sank down on one knee- and this time my Schatzi ( my love) took the ring and said yes”
The couple is now planning a honeymoon in Italy, where they will be joined by friends, followed by a short stay in Villefranche sur Mer.
“I’ve reached my Nirvana, that happiness that people talk about, when you wish for nothing, when you can finally take a deep breath and say: Everything is good. And it’s a wonderful place to be.

I think the reason there was so much “detail” to the proceedings was due to the fact that this was really Tina Turner’s 1st real wedding. This is what a marriage is supposed to be, not that tragic relationship she had w/ Mr. You Know Who. I’m glad that at 73, she has finally reached Nirvana, and wants/needs for nothing. Enjoy your Golden Years, Nice Lady…
But — oh, no! — you still have to record that JAZZ album I need to hear from you! But, you still have to do the GODDESS movie! But, I still need you to be in the next STAR WARS TRILOGY as Lando Calrissian’s kick-ass wife! I still need you to reunite w/ AAAAARNNNOOLD in the KING CONAN movie that’s in the works as another Queen/Witch Doctor! I think I need a “mini-tour” for the JAZZ album! You still need to do a free concert in Central Park in NYC! You need to get on Universal Music and EMI to reissue your discography — esp. 1978-2000, w/ bonus/unreleased tracks in quality collector’s editions! Young Lady, I STILL need so much more from you. Be happy, be healthy, be in love, BUT, still give me that fix that only your rocking/jazzy self can provide! Then rest as much as you want in Switzerland.

Anna Mae Bullock (born November 26, 1939), known by her stage name Tina Turner,[1][2] is a singer, dancer, actress, author and choreographer, whose career has spanned more than half a century, earning her widespread recognition and numerous awards. Born and raised in the United States, she lives in Switzerland and holds Swiss citizenship.

It’s the first time I write on this blog which I have accidentally found on the net…well it’s a great place for Tina’s fans ! I can find a lot of news about her; actually I have a question for whoever wants to answer…Is Tina belonging to the Soka Gakkai ? I’ve read she daily chants the Mantra Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo. So that’s why I’m asking. Thank you.

Just want to say that your marriage inspired my man, who is 20 years younger (64-44) to ask me to marry him. We will need to talk about this though as we live in different countries and neither one of us can move, so we will just be together 5 months out of the year. He said that you were an inspiration to him that love knows no age. But besides this, I think I am going to go with black and green as well, but it will be a bit simpler as the wedding will be in a courthouse. I wish you and Erwin all the best.
