Outta Sight Records

Outta Sight Records or Outta Sight Soul Essentials was formed in the UK in December 2006. It is part of the Castle Music family of imprints within the Sanctuary Records Group. It is used as a vehicle to reissue the soul catalogue owned by the group. The 7 inch single is their first release of Ike & Tina Turner material. Maybe there will be more…

What do they say about their first release?

IKE & TINA TURNER are, of course, the stuff of legend and there is little that we can add here other than to reiterate the global appeal of the husband and wife duo. Ike, from Clarksdale, Mississippi had already established himself as a guitarist, composer and producer by the time he married Anna Mae Bullock from Nutbush, Tennessee. As ‘The Ike & Tina Turner Revue’ they become one of the most explosive live R&B acts of all time and their debut 45 “A Fool In Love” is featured here. Our chosen B-side, “It’s Gonna Work Out Fine”, was recorded in 1961 and actually features the male vocals of Mickey Baker while Ike is relegated to piano accompanied by Sylvia Robinson on guitar. Both sides scored a No.2 Billboard R&B hit.
