The annual Tina Turner Heritage Days are coming in a few days, September 22-24th 2017! Sonia Outlaw-Clark, the lady behind the Tina Turner Museum, and her dynamic team will once again welcome TINA fans from all over the world and they came up with a great program for everybody to enjoy!
From the ‘T3 Mystery Tour‘ to the visit of Nutbush through some ‘Tinaoke‘ the weekend promises to be full of fun and surprises! Check out the ‘Weekend Schedule’ on the Heritage Days Website . Moreover, you don’t want to miss Miss Robbie Montgomery, former Ikette and star of the TV show ‘Welcome To Sweetie Pies’ who will also attend the weekend, do a Q&A session with fans and sign her new cookbook!
Climax of this 2017 TINA Heritage Days, Saturday night! With a special dinner & concert at Carver High Gym where TINA played basketball when she was a young girl (I can tell you you can still feel the energy). With performances from legendary TINA impersonator Larry Edward, Blues band Elmo & The Shades and super fans ‘Jarid & The Heartaches‘, it’s going to be a rockin’ evenin’!
And if you needed one more reason to convince you, any TINA fan should see from his own eyes the TINA Museum and why in itself, it is a full circle representation for Tina; The land where the small school for African American girls that little Anna Mae and her sister attended was donated by an ancestor of the family, allowing Black children from this area to have access to education. And that same one-room school where Tina learned how to read & write would, years later, be transferred from her original location near Nutbush to Brownsville, undergoing drastic transformations to become the Tina Turner Museum. It now holds memorabilia and precious artefacts from Tina’s amazing career. Watch this clip below, featuring Tina Turner on the TV special African Americans Lifes 2, to learn more about the rich history behind this piece of landmark!
