Last week, the Queen of Rock made a rare appearance in Hamburg, Germany in order to present the actress who will play her part in the German version of TINA, The Musical.
Among 80 people were gathered at the fancy Mojo Club, decorated for the occasion with huge photos of the Rock Legend. A press wall and a small stage completed the venue.

TINA personally introduced the lead actress of her new musical in Hamburg. “Today I am proud of what I have achieved in my life,” the singer said last Tuesday at the presentation in the “Mojo Club”. Her role in the musical TINA The Musical will be taken over by AmericanĀ  singer Kristina Love, who has been living in Germany for many years and has already appeared on stage in “Rocky”, “Sister Act” and “Aladdin”.

The opportunity to perform as Tina Turner on stage is a great honor and a challenge for her, says Love. “As a woman and artist, she has overcome all conceivable limits, musically and humanly,” said the singer. Besides the main actress, director Phyllida Lloyd (“Mamma Mia”) and producer Tali Pellman also came to Hamburg.

TINA, Das Musical will open on 3 March 2019Ā at the Hamburg Reeperbahn in Germany. The musical was developed by Stage Entertainment in close collaboration with the world star. The life of the American singer is told from the time she was a young girl in Nutbush, Tennessee, through her life with soul musician and later husband Ike Turner, to her worldwide success as a pop solo artist since the 1980s.

  3. Tina looks great! Just wondering-will the musical be done in German or English? I finished the book and itā€™s beautifully written. So enjoyed it and marvel at what Tina has gone through in these last five years. She continues to inspire and amaze!

    1. The dialogues of all Characters will be in German language. Songs, that are meaningful for the understanding of the story were also translated into German. Songs, who are meaningful for the atmosphere, like concert scenes, will be in English.
