Today is the big day! Miss Tina Turner turns eighty! To celebrate this special occasion, fans have created a special book entitled ‘Our Love Stories’ that will be delivered to Tina today. More than 300 stories were collected and put together with a beautiful design thanks to the huge work of the incredible Faye, legendary fan Sjef and the inexhaustible Anja O.

I had the honor of writing the foreword for ‘Our Love Stories’ and I’d like to share it with you all today!

Dear Tina, 

What a joy to wish you a happy 80th birthday! What a milestone.

Your strength and joie de vivre continues to inspire millions, from Sweden to South Africa and from Austria to Australia. We come from every corner of the world and have one thing in common: our admiration for you. 

We call ourselves the Tina Family. It’s a family that keeps on growing. Your musical has introduced your life story and work to an even larger audience. For the tenth year in a row, we celebrated you at our rockin’-and-rollin’ fan party – our biggest one yet!

Now, how do you give back to someone who has given us so much? We decided to share Our Love Stories with you. In this book, you will find hundreds of stories from people around the globe on how you have impacted their lives. We hope you will enjoy this gift as a sign of our appreciation.  

We wish you a very happy, healthy and beautiful 80th birthday.

    1. Happy birthday to a very special woman that I’ve admired for as long as I can remember. I’m now 70 and her music inspires me to dance and sing not good at singing but I can lip sync. Smiling. Love you always my Queen Tina all the way from Beaumont, Tx.

  10. I’ve got to let you know that you are my hero. You really truly gave me the strength to leave my abusive relationship at 7 1/2 months pregnant. You gave me hope to overcome the abuse to find me without him. For this, I am eternally grateful.
    Also I love your music. Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing me there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Happiest of Birthdays to you filled with love, joy and happiness.

I fell in love with ‘Tina Turner’ at a concert in Ipswich 1984 when I was 15 years old, the voice, the performance, but even more the utter determination to throw out such warmth and positivity to everyone.   27. Happy Birthday Tina! You are my daily Inspiration! Oh how I would like to hug you and tell you how thankful I am for your beautiful music and your triumph life story! There is a similar path to my path and yours. After a terrible break up and divorce at age 54 years old I began singing (No Lip (Synching) on the downtown streets of Chicago to make ends meet. I performed on the side walk for 5 to 6 hours per day in cheap red high heel shoes! My feet were swollen and blistered, but I still continued until I turned 60! My life at 63.5 has improved because of the LOVE and Respect people have for you and your Extraordinary music! Oh how, I want to see you one day, face to face and pour my love on you and thank you for being REAL! Hugs, Love, and Kisses my Shero! Have the “BEST” birthday ever!

  33. Warm and loving Best Wishes on your Big 80!! I have probably attended about a hundred and fifty of your live performances since 1987. I have never seen you give less than the best you had in you for any performance, whether you were in top vocal shape, or were having struggles with your voice. Your Spirit and Love and Positive Energy shone through regardless!

    And it was such a pleasure to hear what happened with your singing in the last leg of your 2000 Tour! By the end, you were singing far better than you ever had before, you remember? I was closely observing the changes that were happening as you were actually performing.

    I wish that you may have that kind of singing again. I know that you can.
