Today, April 22nd 2016, marks the 20th Anniversary of the release of Tina’s Wildest Dreams album. Wildest Dreams is the ninth solo album by Tina Turner, released on Parlophone/Virgin in 1996. It went double platinum in the United Kingdom and in Europe.
In 1997 the album was released as a limited edition special pack in Europe with a bonus disc including remixes, non-album tracks and live recordings from Turner’s concert in Amsterdam on the Wildest Dreams Tour. The two-disc edition was released with the same cover picture as the U.S. album.

Although James Bond could never age or be younger and older until Daniel Craig took over but even the biggest hits age but they hopefully age with dignity and perform even better like good wine from the South of France – or wherever you order your wine from. “GoldenEye”, the massive hit single for Tina Turner and the James Bond merchandise turns 20 in October 2015 and we can only compare it with the above-mentioned red wine. It aged with honor and dignity and can now be seen as one of the great James Bond songs and surely a signature hit for Tina Turner.

Since this blog is called Tina Turner Blog well maybe we have to talk to you a bit about Tina Turner’s new release.That’s right, a new release! Well according to Parlophone… Because of course, there’s nothing new about this new “Love Song” compilation, even not the cover. No new songs or previously unreleased tracks, just classics put together to sell a couple of cd’s on Valentine’s Day. And don’t expect 74-year old Turner to make any promotional appearances in support of the album, as she is “happily retired” from the music business according to her spokesperson.
This month marks the 20th Anniversary of Tina Turner’s biopic “What’s Love Got To Do With It” as well as its release on Blu-ray. Bassett, as Tina Turner asks the musical question “What’s Love Got to Do with It” in this 1993 film also starring Laurence Fishburne, Jenifer Lewis, and Khandi Alexander. The film tells the story of Tina Turner’s childhood as Anna Mae Bullock her move to St. Louis after her grandmother’s death to live with her mother, her meeting Ike Turner at a nightclub, her subsequent singing with Ike’s band, their marriage and divorce…
