From Stage to Stamp: Tina Turner’s Legacy Sticks Around! BMG and Deutsche Post have joined forces to celebrate the legendary “Queen of Rock’n’Roll” with a special commemorative stamp honoring Tina Turner. This release extends Deutsche Post’s “Legends of Pop/Rock Music” series, with Turner making history as the first female musician to be featured.

As the custodian of Tina Turner’s extensive musical interests, BMG continues to nurture her musical legacy and safeguard her extraordinary influence for future generations. The stamp stands as a powerful tribute to Turner’s enduring global impact and her unique bond with audiences in Germany.
Available from November 3, the stamp celebrates Turner’s unparalleled career, during which she dominated charts and stages worldwide. Songs such as “Nutbush City Limits,” “The Best,” “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” and “GoldenEye” all became Top 10 hits in Germany. Notably, “We Don’t Need Another Hero” reached No. 1 in 1985 — exactly 40 years ago. Turner also consistently sold out Germany’s largest concert venues, including her celebrated farewell tour, “Tina! 50th Anniversary Tour” in 2009, which captivated audiences in Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover, Mannheim, and Munich.

Alistair Norbury, President, UK, EU & APAC at BMG, said: “Tina Turner’s musical journey has inspired hundreds of millions globally and continues to resonate with new generations. We are honored to partner with Deutsche Post on this unique tribute, which beautifully captures her essence and celebrates her deep connection with her fans, especially in Germany. This is a testament to her unparalleled artistry and the powerful legacy that BMG is committed to preserving and championing.”

Benjamin Rasch, Head of Product Management and Marketing at Deutsche Post, said: “It is a pleasure for us to honor Tina Turner with a special postage stamp. During her lifetime, she was an international superstar and very popular in Germany. People still remember her hits today. That’s why it was clear to us that she had to be the first female musician included in our special stamp series ‘Legends of Pop/Rock Music.’ Surely, many of her fans will be delighted to be now able to frank their mail with their idol.“
Designed by Jan-Niklas Kröger of Deutsche Post, the stamp is also available in a limited gold edition. This consists of the stamp with serial numbers 1–1,000, along with a gold-embellished image of the stamp in a premium hardcover. The stamp is worth 95 cents and can be used for standard letters (up to 20 g) sent within Germany.
How can someone in the US order these? I tried, but the site would not allow.
