According to this article, Tina Turner & Erwin Bach got married a few weeks ago. However the party will take place in their mansion in Zurich on July 21st. Don’t forget, you can still send your wedding wishes to Tina & Erwin, all details here.
Also, a new Ike & Tina Turner picture disc vinyl entitled “On The Road” (See Bob Gruen post) will be released in October of this year, in combination with the DVD. You can pre-order it here.
And finally, The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center is working on a wonderful project in the restoration of Tina Turner’s childhood school. The school house will serve as an interactive experience for children in the area, as well as adults, to help them learn more about their heritage. They need to raise money and if you want to be part of it, you can contribute here.

Forgot to mention: 2 years after being on Arte’s special series “Summer of Girl” with a special Tina Turner evening, she’ll be again this year part of the “Summer of Soul” series (nice page) with the broadcast of “What’s Love Got To Do With”; Tina’s biopic. The food will be catered by her favorite chefs, the decoration will be made out of orchids, the dresscode for guests is white. 1986 is an interesting year for Tina and Erwin. That’s also the year the “Break Every Rule” album came out, isn’t it. That’s the album Tina was quoted as saying is in many songs about her life. It’s always seemed to me that “‘Till The Right Man Comes Along” is defining the couple agreement that Tina made with Erwin.

If anyone deserves love and happiness found w/in the precious bonds of marriage, it’s Ms. Turner, or Mrs. Bach, now. This, in many ways, is the first real wedding for Tina: The the other one was under such “dire” circumstances that it hardly constitutes as one…her divorce was more legal than the actual “contract marriage” she had w/ Ike.
It would be nice to see what kind of a dress Mr. Armani made for her. If it isn’t white, and everyone else is wearing white, I wonder if it’s black or yellow, or even gold? Time may tell.
