Unlike Bryan Adams, I didn’t have the chance to experience the summer of 1969 but I do remember the summer of 1996 as if it was yesterday… Starting her sold-out titanic Wildest Dreams World Tour with 3 shows in Bercy (3 more would be added later in September) Paris in May, Tina was everywhere, with a hot single, a brand new successful album, and a breathtaking look. And like this year, it was a hot summer and a memorable one.

On June 25, 1996, Tina performed in the small eastern city of Nancy, France, only a couple of kilometers of where I was growing up. One of the biggest concert ever given in the local Zenith, attracting more than 25.000 fans from all over Europe.
On June 25, 1996, I was flying for the first to the USA with my family… The irony of the situation has never left me but I have no regrets since I had already seen Tina and would see her again many times after that…

Today, July 21st, 2018 marks the 22nd anniversary of Tina’s concerts at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London! Performing for two nights in front of a mesmerized crowd, the show offered by the Queen of Rock to her massive audience was simply perfect from start to finish. The songs, the voice, the costumes, the energy, the stage… in my opinion the epitome of Tina’s live performances.

So in order to celebrate this memorable tour and more particularly this special concert, here’s a selection of songs Tina performed in London during that tour. Nothing special in terms of setlist (‘a good show is a good show everywhere’) but a fantastic radio broadcast with awesome vocals directly taken from the soundboard. The type of bootlegs you wish you had more! Enjoy the songs but most of all, I wish you all a peaceful summer! ☀️☀️☀️

Great article! The 1st concert I ever attended in my life was the Wildest Dreams concert in Dublin on the 28th June 1996. Where have the years gone? I was 14 at the time.
I was lucky enough to also see Tina at Alton Towers a few weeks later. This was an interesting show, as the stage was very bare, with a basic lighting system, and the goldeneye was simply painted on to a large curtain at the back of the stage. Tina just walked out from behind the drum kit at the start of Goldeneye, instead of being lifted down by the platform. There was no Nutbush ‘surfboard’ either.
The week after that, I remember recording the Wembley show from the radio as it was broadcast on UK Radio 1. My tape was worn out years ago! I have great memories of summer ’96. Thankyou for reminding me of them.

If you ever find and pictures of the Alton Towers show, you must post them! I’ve tried for years, but never found any. Oh, how I wish I had taken a camera to that show! At the time, I was sad that I didn’t get to see the proper Wildest Dreams stage up close (we were only a few rows from the front), but looking back, I feel happy that I got to see just Tina, her dancers and her band with no big production show. It was unusual at that time of her career!

This was the last time she was touring Spain and, I wasn’t able to go to Barcelona to see her! 😢. I had to go to the Gelredome in march 2009 to see my first and my last Tina’s concert!😊

Haha poor Carlos… But! One TINA concert is better than no TINA concert and worth a thousand time seeing another artist 😉
